Introducing Four Roots Collective!
When I came to Germany, I was aware of the huge risk I was taking opening a business in an entirely new country where I did not know the language, let alone any person.
I promised myself I would do all I could to make it work, which included networking with like-minded professionals. Having always worked full time and in-person with colleagues, I knew that if I did not have colleagues to work with, it would be a lonely existence for me as a business owner and clinician.
After arriving in Germany, I started cold-emailing people I found online. That is what connected me to my fantastic colleagues, Alex, Zoe and Kristen.
After connecting, we discovered that we practiced in similar ways, had both similar and diverging interests and backgrounds, served a wide range of clients between us and were interested in growing a community together.
We also discovered how passionate each of us are about supporting people with eating disorders to find and achieve their own recovery.
There is a lack of comprehensive care for people struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating in Germany and in Europe. There are limited intensive outpatient programs and waits for residential clinics (which often do not take English-speaking individuals) can be 3-9 months.
By working together, as a team and collective, we fill this gap.
Four Roots Collective (also found at eatingdisordergermany.com) is committed to helping people struggling with disordered eating live a life of purpose and meaning.
We are not a separate business entity, but a collective of our individual businesses.
We are offering clinical services, groups and resources for individuals, families and professionals around eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, exercise compulsion/dependence, parenting around body image/feeding, body dysmorphia, and more.
Services include:
1:1 Counseling Sessions
1:1 Nutrition Therapy Sessions
Meal Support
Cooking Instruction
Family Therapy
Team Meetings, including the client
In-between session support through Apps/Texting
Close collaboration among all team members
Group Offerings
Advocating for you within the German/European healthcare system
Referrals to other providers and recovery coaches
And, more.
